Early Georgian Cabriole Leg Comb Back Windsor Armchair

Late George II, Early George III Comb Back with cherry crest rail. Solid splat & flat, outer stiles in fruitwood. Nicely shaped saddle seat in figured elm. Spindles & front cabriole legs in beech. Back legs of a form seen on the front legs of earlier Windsors. See Harding-Hill, pp 36,40,44,45 & the back legs of a chair, p. 39.
