SOLD: Charles II Stool In Walnut
Rare Long Stool with nicely turned legs & stretchers. The legs with inverted balusters & rings. The median stretcher centering two short balusters flanking an incised ball between attenuated balusters & rings. Standing on compressed ball feet. Upholstered in Irish stitch pattern upholstery. See Chinnery, "Oak Furniture", p. 275, Fig. 3:126 & Bowett, "English Furniture, Charles I to Queen Anne", p. 282, Plate 9:20, for similar turning on a table with central stretcher, c. 1700.
