SOLD: Sofa Table In Rosewood
Superb Carved Sofa Table in Figured Rosewood. Top edge carved with alternating gadroons terminating in bellflowers. The shaped leaves with gadrooning & acanthus-carved corners centering bellflowers. Two drawers with nulled inside edges. Drawers lined with luxurious 1/2" thick tiger maple boards, sides & bottom. The apron centered by a stepped tablet carved with an anthemion spray clasped by C-scrolls. Below, a carved pendant with two paterae & flanking scrolls. Lyre-form end supports deeply carved with Apollo masks. H-form stretchers with nulled edges & standing on acanthus-scrolled feet.
