SOLD: Portrait Of William III
Oil on Canvas. William, King 1689-1702. Wearing armour, a lace stock at his neck, a bejewelled medallion of St. George slaying the dragon on a gold chain (an element of the Order of the Garter) on his chest. A similar pose can be seen in a miniature by Caspar Netscher. The armour symbolic of the monarch's military campaigns.
