SOLD: Irish 8-Day Longcase Clock With Moonphase
Charming Irish Longcase in Figured Mahogany. Dial signed "Bagnam, Belfast". Architectural swan's neck pediment with carved sunflower paterae. Arched hood door flanked by two outset fluted columns with brass capitals & bases. Elaborate dial with moonphase/ship in arch, two earth hemispheres indicating continents, seconds dial, calendar aperture & spandrels painted with allegorical female figures representing the four seasons. Elaborately pierced sound holes. Trunk door edge-moulded with ogee-shaped crest centering an inverted crescent. Fluted quarter columns flanking. Skirt board scalloped with bracket feet.
