One of a set of six Federal Period Philadelphia "fancy" chairs in maple. Klismos form, painted on an earthtone green ground with gilt acanthus at the crestrail, the splat centering a gilt patera, the trompe l'oeil lower stretcher similarly decorated. Original rush seats. Degrees of wear to painted surface.
